I must say I am very very grateful for the lengths that my friends will go to in order to help me out. Here are Paddy and I, and 2 of my oldest friends in SL - both straight :) - who, for lack of availability of female avatars on the spot at the time - agreed to dance with each other!

The Mists of Nitida - new space preview

The name might change if I get another brainstorm. This one's not intended for anything but a place to come and dance - anytime - and it's proving great fun in the building; found a couple of very neat water effects to add as well. Though the whole thing is still raw and unfinished, here's a preview pic.

It's not that hard to find if you start at the Ridge (or my profile picks ;-) ) - here's Toby pondering a fountain.

Coffee & Pajamas - Elfay Pinkdot

Every Saturday morning, there's a twinge of regret that I can't be in two places at once, listening - while Kourosh is on a short hiatus I'm taking advantage and heading to Elfay Pinkdot's Coffee & Pajamas show at Sunset Jazz Club - I'm not normally into DJ shows in sl (nothing against them - just personal preference for music performed live) - but Elfay's different :-)

This week has a 6 Degrees of Cassandra Wilson theme - the music is just grand.

Mimi joins Hathead Rickenbacker & Maximillion Kleene

... for her last gig in Canada yesterday, at Hathead's in Toronto, before going back home. They streamed live with video to an appreciative crowd at Hathead's Terrace on Hathead II


It was great fun to see their smiling rl faces, as well as that of Blue, Paradise Tennant's wonderdog, who occasionally chimed in with his own harmonies.

SL/RL merger

Great fun - 3 SL musicians who had never met, much less played together, sitting in my livingroom last night and jamming for more than a couple of hours. It wasn't perfect - the only setup that worked was to use a single mic, but to these ears the talented trio of Mimi, Chronic & Snow sounded really good - and their skills came through on the stream too ... we had such a good time that not one of us remembered I'd left a camera in easy reach - there are no pics :-( . Fortunately the sound of music and laughter, and the smiling faces are burned into my memory - this will always be a highlight of this year.

Impromptu marathon

I came home Friday night after spending some time helping a family member move, doing a little shopping, mundane RL stuff - to see a notice in my email that Monti & Mimi were doing an impromptu set in Mocha Fey. I popped right over there and it was apparent they'd been going on for 2 hours or more - and they continued on - until they'd played a total of nearly 5 hours! A cozy small crowd was there, and it looked like all were enjoying themselves.

From the sound of it, Mimi & Monti were enjoying themselves the most :)

All this after doing a scheduled special on the Ridge that packed both sims 2 nights before - where they played an hour over the scheduled 1-1/2 hours as well - life is good :)
